pioneering

We recently submitted our “campus plan” to the Mae Fah Luang University administration. Because of some negative experiences they have had in the past with missionaries, we have to be very careful as to how we go about talking about God. Pioneering a new campus has many steps of preparation and we are getting more and more anxious everyday! We feel so blessed to have been given this opportunity to attempt to start a movement in a place where one has never been before! Please pray that the campus administration will have open hearts and minds and that we will form sustainable relationships with them from the very beginning! Our first big event will be LTI Camp Chiang Rai September 24-27. A lot of discipleship as well as leadership training will occur there. Our goal for this year, in addition to seeing countless students come to know Christ, is also to see at least fifty students become active, committed members of CCC at Mae Fah Luang University. LTI Camp is a big step towards this goal. We will also be going into some remote villages to share the gospel with the villagers. Please keep them in prayer.
While talking with a student this week, I learned that the only time he had ever seen a bible was on TV. Hard to imagine, right?. My heart is to see the cultural and religious barriers of Buddhism crumble in this spiritually dark country and for Christ to reign in the hearts of it’s people. We want to see a Christ-centered movement in Chiang Rai! Please continue to pray for the Thai students and their families, and also for our team, that we might exhibit the love and grace of our God in a way that is pleasing to Him thru our relationships with the Thai people.
