The second week of October we had to go to Laos for four days to complete our student visas. Our ten hour road trip became lengthened into fifteen hours when we unexpectedly encountered a bridge underwater due to severe flooding. Khop khum Prajao though for turning that mishap into an unbelievable adventure. Our detoured route proved to be an amazingly beautiful drive through some of the most remote locations in northern Thailand. The visa process was completed in two days as planned and we were glad to arrive back in Chiang Rai on Wednesday.
